Congress Exposes Alleged Scam in CBSE Class 12 Exam OSM Contract Deal

NEW DELHI: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has alleged significant manipulation in the results of the Class 12 CBSE exams, labeling the contract awarded to Globarena as a “scam.” He criticized the company for its questionable history, noting that it previously operated under the name COEMPT, which had faced similar issues in Telangana leading to multiple student suicides in 2019 and 2023.

In light of the distress affecting countless students and their families, Gandhi remarked that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has shown “no answers, no accountability, and no shame.” He has called for an independent judicial inquiry and the formation of a special investigation team to investigate the matter thoroughly. “This was all public information. It was known to everybody, and yet for some hidden reason, the CBSE chose the same company again. It took us 30 seconds to figure out that this company was earlier called something else,” he stated. He expressed confidence that officials within the CBSE and the central government were aware of Globarena’s background.

Gandhi also emphasized the need to explore the relationship between the former COEMPT and the Modi administration. As part of the ongoing protests against the NEET exam paper leak, he visited the family of NEET aspirant Pradeep Meghwal, who tragically took his own life in Sikar, Rajasthan. During a visit to the NSUI office in Lutyen’s zone, he, along with NSUI president Vinod Jakhar and AICC functionary Kanhaiya Kumar, met with Meghwal’s relatives. Gandhi characterized Pradeep’s death as a result of a “broken, corrupt system.” He stated, “Those who handed the examination system over to mafias, and who are still clinging to their chairs today – the Modi-Pradhan duo is accountable to this family.”
