New Delhi: The conclusion of the IPL (Indian Premier League) 2026 featured the 70th and final league phase match between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Delhi Capitals (DC) at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, on May 24. Delhi Capitals opted to bat first in this contest.

In their innings, Abishek Porel contributed 22 runs, while KL Rahul led the score with 60 runs. Sahil Parakh added 24 runs, and Axar Patel chipped in with 39 runs. David Miller’s efforts resulted in 28 runs, helping Delhi Capitals set a total of 203 runs in the first innings.

For Kolkata Knight Riders, Saurabh Dubey emerged as the highest wicket-taker, claiming two wickets. Anukul Roy, Sunil Narine, and Varun Chakaravarthy each took one wicket, attempting to rein in Delhi’s scoring.

Lungi Ngidi, Kuldeep Yadav propel DC to stellar win

Chasing the target, Kolkata Knight Riders began their innings with Ajinkya Rahane scoring 63 runs off 39 balls. Finn Allen added 20 runs from 13 deliveries, while Manish Pandey managed 25 runs from 16 balls. Rovman Powell contributed 29 runs in 21 balls.

However, KKR’s middle order struggled against the formidable bowling of Delhi Capitals, resulting in a significant collapse. Cameron Green was out for just two runs, Rinku Singh was dismissed for a duck, and Tejasvi Dahiya scored a solitary run.

Lungi Ngidi and Kuldeep Yadav were standout bowlers for Delhi Capitals, each taking three wickets. Mitchell Starc secured two wickets, while Axar Patel accounted for one wicket. Ultimately, Delhi Capitals restricted Kolkata Knight Riders to a total of 163 runs in the second innings, achieving a 40-run victory to conclude their IPL 2026 campaign.
