Silver prices increased by 1.42 percent to ₹2.62 lakh per kg in futures trading on Friday, influenced by the ongoing crisis in West Asia. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, the price of silver for July delivery rose by ₹3,660, or 1.42 percent, reaching ₹2,62,200 per kilogram, with a trading volume of 2,215 lots.
Analysts attributed this surge to the establishment of new positions by market participants. In international markets, Comex silver futures also saw a rise, climbing by 2.72 percent to $80.59 per ounce.
The increase in silver prices amidst geopolitical tensions reflects investor behavior and market dynamics influenced by external factors.
