National Security Adviser Ajit Doval met with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Sunday to discuss strengthening the strategic partnership between India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The discussions also addressed recent developments in West Asia and their implications for regional and global security, particularly relating to energy security.

During the meeting, Doval conveyed greetings from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He further engaged in conversations aimed at enhancing bilateral relations. The meeting was attended by Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Ali bin Hammad Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for National Security.

In a post shared on social media platform X, the Indian Embassy in the UAE noted, “NSA Ajit Doval paid an official visit to the UAE. He called on President HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan… Measures to deepen Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, the regional situation, and other issues of mutual interest were discussed.”

According to the UAE state-run news agency WAM, Doval communicated PM Modi’s greetings, to which the UAE President responded with his own greetings for Indian leadership, expressing wishes for the continued development and prosperity of India and its citizens.

This visit marks the second high-level engagement between India and the UAE in a short span, following the earlier visit by External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, who met with President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and also delivered greetings from PM Modi. Jaishankar emphasized the strength of the India-UAE strategic partnership, pointing out that the dialogue between the two nations remains robust and transparent, despite the complexities of the regional environment.
