NEW DELHI: The Delhi Police have arrested a suspect in the murder of the daughter of an Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer, according to a report by ANI. The individual was apprehended at a hotel in Dwarka after being tracked down by police.
The victim, a 22-year-old woman, was discovered dead in the Amar Colony area of South Delhi. Authorities suspect she was strangled, potentially with a mobile phone charging cable found at the crime scene.
The main suspect, identified as Rahul, had gone into hiding following the incident, prompting police to deploy multiple teams for his apprehension. Investigators traced him to his residence in Alwar, where it was revealed he had allegedly been involved in a molestation incident in his neighborhood just a day before the murder.
A senior police official stated that the murder was reported on Wednesday while the victim’s parents were out for a walk. It is believed that the house help, who had recently been dismissed from their job, entered the home and committed the crime.
