Mumbai Indians End Four-Match Losing Streak with Victory Over Gujarat Titans

In the 30th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL), held in Ahmedabad, the Mumbai Indians overcame their four-match losing streak by defeating the Gujarat Titans by a significant margin of 99 runs. This victory allowed Mumbai to ascend from the bottom of the points table to seventh place.

Tilak Varma played a pivotal role in the match, scoring an impressive 101 runs. With this performance, he emerged as the leading run-scorer for the Mumbai franchise, although he remains distant from the Orange Cap race. Gujarat Titans’ captain Shubman Gill currently sits in second place among the tournament’s top scorers.

Gill had an opportunity to claim the Orange Cap from Heinrich Klaasen but managed only 14 runs, bringing his total to 265 runs in five matches. His average stands at 53, with a strike rate of 151.42, including three fifties. In contrast, Klaasen leads the pack with 283 runs in six innings, averaging 47.16 and achieving a strike rate of 144.38.

Completing the list of the top five run-scorers in IPL 2026 are Virat Kohli (247 runs), Vaibhav Sooryavanshi (246 runs), and Rajat Patidar (230 runs).

  2. Shubman Gill (GT) – 265 runs
  3. Virat Kohli (RCB) – 247 runs
  4. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi (RR) – 246 runs

Prasidh Krishna in Contention for Purple Cap

On the bowling front, Prasidh Krishna of the Gujarat Titans secured one wicket, increasing his tally to 12 in six matches, with an average of 19.83. Meanwhile, Anshul Kamboj from Chennai Super Kings currently leads with 13 wickets, achieving an average of 16.23.

Following closely behind are Prince Yadav (11 wickets), Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Ravi Bishnoi (10 wickets each). Kagiso Rabada also recorded three wickets against Mumbai and is among those with 10 wickets to date.
