Tata Motors Announces Punch Facelift Launch Date

New Delhi: Tata Motors, a prominent player in the automotive industry, has officially announced the launch date for the Punch facelift. After an extensive testing phase on Indian roads, the updated model is set to debut on January 13, 2026. An official teaser on the company’s website highlights several exterior features of the car, showcasing a new design palette.

Key Updates on the TATA Punch Facelift

According to the teaser, the front design of the Punch has undergone significant changes. Notable modifications include a slimmer grille, vertically stacked LED daytime running lights, and a headlamp setup reminiscent of the Punch EV.

SUV Aesthetic Enhancements

The overall aesthetic appears sharper and more modern. Tata has redesigned the front bumper, which now features a larger air dam and a more pronounced faux silver skid plate, enhancing its rugged SUV appearance. From a side view, new 16-inch alloy wheels are evident, while the rear boasts connected LED taillamps with a smoky finish, drawing inspiration from the Altroz model. The teaser also revealed a new blue paint option, signaling that additional color choices may follow.

Advanced Features

On the features front, the teaser showcases a front camera situated below the Tata logo, indicating the inclusion of a 360-degree camera system—a notable upgrade for vehicles in this segment that enhances both safety and convenience. Spy shots suggest a refreshed interior, which is expected to feature a larger infotainment screen, a digital instrument cluster, and an array of comfort amenities such as ventilated front seats, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration, automatic climate control, an electric sunroof, and adjustable driver seating.

Enhanced Safety Measures

The facelifted Punch is set to improve safety offerings by including six airbags as standard, electronic stability control, hill hold assist, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and the optional 360-degree camera.

Engine Options and Variants

Mechanically, Tata will continue to utilize the 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine, alongside an i-CNG version that features dual-cylinder technology. Notably, a new 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine will be introduced, promising a more dynamic driving experience.

Pricing and Competitors

The anticipated pricing for the updated Punch begins around Rs 6 lakh (ex-showroom). Upon its release, it will compete with models such as the Hyundai Exter, Citroen C3, Maruti Ignis, and Nissan Magnite. Potential buyers interested in the new Punch facelift are advised to stay informed for further developments.
