Melbourne: The stage is set for the fourth Test of the ongoing Ashes 2025-26 series, where Australia will face England at the Melbourne Cricket Ground starting December 26. Known as the Boxing Day Test, this match holds no significance for either team, as Australia has already retained the Ashes by winning the first three matches of the series.

Veteran pacer Mitchell Starc is expected to be a focal point ahead of the match. The 35-year-old has achieved 424 wickets in Test cricket, placing him second among left-arm seamers with the most wickets in the format. Former Sri Lankan cricketer Rangana Herath leads this list with 433 wickets. Starc needs just 10 wickets in the remaining two Tests to surpass Herath’s record. Given his current form, he is poised to achieve this milestone, potentially solidifying his status as one of the greatest fast bowlers in cricket history.

In terms of the Ashes series, Australia holds a 3-0 lead against England, having delivered outstanding performances across the initial three Tests. The Australian team aims to secure a clean sweep with a victory in Melbourne. Conversely, England has struggled significantly, with captain Ben Stokes and his team looking to improve and seek a consolation win in the upcoming Test.
