Telegram has announced a significant update for its iOS and Android applications, introducing features such as Live Stories, repeated scheduled messages, and a new auction system for collectible gifts. This update is one of the platform’s most creator-centric releases to date, aiming to enhance user engagement and streamline content interaction.
The new Live Stories feature allows users to broadcast video in real time via Stories, with live comments and reactions that appear momentarily to showcase top interactions. During these broadcasts, creators can earn Stars, which are tracked in real time with a live earnings counter. For professional users, the feature supports streaming through external software like OBS and XSplit using RTMP links, offering advanced privacy settings to control audience access to broadcasts.
In addition to Live Stories, Telegram has enhanced its scheduled messages functionality, enabling users to set reminders that can repeat daily, weekly, or at custom intervals. This feature aims to help users organize their workflows and personal routines more effectively.
The update also brings a new auction feature for collectible gifts, allowing users to place bids using Stars in timed rounds. The highest bidders receive gifts based on their ranking, with unsuccessful bids rolling over to the next auction round. Any remaining Stars from unspent bids will be refunded. Collectible gifts can be found in the “Send a Gift” section, marked with an “Auction” label that provides clear information on the typical Stars needed to win.
From a design perspective, iOS users will experience new Liquid Glass interface elements, which create a translucent and immersive aesthetic in navigation bars, keyboards, and sticker panels. Meanwhile, Android users receive a simplified input bar and improved blur effects, contributing to a smoother and more visually coherent conversation experience.
The update will likely elevate the platform’s usability and attract a broader audience, particularly among creators. This latest version was published on November 26, 2025.
