Tragic Toll: Over 28 Palestinians Dead in Recent Israeli Strikes on Gaza

The Israeli military has carried out a wave of strikes on Gaza City and Khan Younis, killing at least 28 people and injuring 77 others, violating the fragile ceasefire which came into effect last month after two years of genocide. Occupation forces targeted the displaced civilians in the Al-Zaytoun neighbourhood in Gaza City on Wednesday.

Since 10 October, Israel has committed 393 violations of the Ceasefire agreement, resulting in 279 martyrs and more than 652 injured, according to Gaza’s Government Media Office.

Condemning the attack, Hamas said “over 300 people have been killed since the ceasefire agreement was signed, alongside the continued homes’ demolition policy and the closure of the Rafah crossing, representing a blatant Israeli defiance of the American and regional guarantors.”

Confirming their attack, the Israeli army accused Hamas of firing at their troops in Gaza. “In response, the [Israeli army], led by the Southern Command, under the direction of the Shin Bet and through the Air Force, began attacking targets” throughout the Gaza Strip, the Israeli army said in a post.

Earlier on Wednesday, Hamas condemned Israel’s attack on the Ein el-Hilweh refugee camp in Lebanon, calling it a “massacre” for which Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government bears full responsibility.
