Chandresh Dedhia, the Head of IT and Vice President at Zepto, has announced his exit from the company after successfully leading its technology operations during a period of rapid expansion for one of India’s fastest-growing startups. In a LinkedIn post, Dedhia characterized his experience as “an amazing journey,” during which he was responsible for overseeing the company’s technology infrastructure, scaling systems, building teams, and addressing the challenges associated with hyper-growth.

Founded in 2021 by Aadit Palicha and Kaivalya Vohra, Zepto employs a “dark-store” model, utilizing mini-warehouses located in urban areas to deliver groceries and essential items within approximately 10 minutes. The Bengaluru-based startup boasts a catalog of over 45,000 products and has recently ventured into electronics and other categories, solidifying its position in India’s burgeoning quick-commerce sector. By 2024, Zepto achieved a valuation of around USD 5 billion.

In his statement, Dedhia expressed gratitude to the leadership team at Zepto, including Kaivalya V. and Nikhil Mittal, for their support and for allowing him to take part in the company’s mission. He conveyed that he leaves the role feeling “energized and ready for new challenges ahead.”
