IIFL Home Finance has named Girish Kousgi as its new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, effective October 30, 2025. In his role, Kousgi will manage the company’s full range of business operations, which encompasses home loans, non-home loan products, MSME loans, and construction finance.
Kousgi brings nearly three decades of expertise in the banking and financial services sector. His most recent position was as MD and CEO of PNB Housing Finance Limited. Prior to that, he led Can Fin Homes, where he executed strategic transformations that enhanced profitability and operational efficiency. His career trajectory includes significant roles at Tata Capital Financial Services, IDFC Bank, and ICICI Bank, focusing on areas such as mortgages, SME and agricultural finance, retail lending, and deposit products.
Nirmal Jain, Founder of IIFL Group, noted that Kousgi’s appointment occurs at a critical juncture for the housing finance industry, as the company seeks to fortify its standing in affordable housing finance and expedite growth across various business segments.
Kousgi expressed optimism about entering the industry at a transformative moment. He underscored the company’s commitment to making housing finance more accessible for economically weaker sections and low-income groups, capitalizing on government programs such as PMAY 2.0.
IIFL Home Finance operates 376 branches across 18 states and has served over 454,000 customers since its establishment, with a primary focus on first-time homebuyers and underserved markets in tier 2 to tier 4 towns.
