Vienna, Austria – Alexander Zverev has secured his place at the 2025 ATP Finals, becoming the fourth player to qualify after advancing to the Vienna Open semi-finals on Friday, following the withdrawal of his opponent, Tallon Griekspoor.

The 28-year-old German, seeded second in the Vienna tournament, confirmed his return to the season-ending championship in Turin, marking his eighth appearance in the last nine years. He joins Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz, and Jannik Sinner as the first players to qualify for this prestigious event, scheduled to take place from November 9 to 16 at the Pala Alpi Tour Arena.

Zverev started the year strongly by reaching the final of the Australian Open, and his consistent performance throughout the season has kept him in contention in the PIF ATP Live Race to Turin. The German star had a successful 2025 campaign, winning the Munich Open for his 24th ATP Tour title, and securing his sixth title on home soil, along with reaching the final in Stuttgart. He also advanced to the semi-finals at ATP Masters 1000 events in Toronto and Cincinnati, further affirming his position among the elite in tennis.

Zverev’s achievements at the ATP Finals underscore his prowess on significant platforms. He has clinched the title twice, in 2018 and 2021, and reached the semi-finals in both 2019 and 2024. His only absence since debuting in 2017 came in 2022 when a severe ankle injury sidelined him for several months.

According to ATP statistics, Zverev holds a 17-10 record at the year-end event, including a notable 9-3 record since the tournament transitioned to Turin. Notably, two of his losses occurred in final-set tie-breaks, highlighting how narrowly he has missed out on further victories in recent years.

His 2021 win in Turin made him one of only two active players, alongside Novak Djokovic, to win the ATP Finals more than once. With four singles spots still available, competition to qualify alongside Zverev, Djokovic, Alcaraz, and Sinner is expected to heat up, with Taylor Fritz currently next in line for qualification.
