RSS Calls for Investigation into Anandu Aji’s Death

NEW DELHI: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has requested a thorough and impartial investigation into the death of 26-year-old Anandu Aji from Elikkulam, Kottayam district, labeling the incident as “sad and unfortunate.” Anandu, a native of Ponkunnam, was found deceased in a hotel room in Thampanoor, Thiruvananthapuram, last week. Following his death, a scheduled post on Instagram emerged in which he accused certain RSS functionaries of sexual and physical abuse during his childhood.

The RSS has described the allegations made in the social media post as “dubious and baseless.” K B Sreekumar, Saha Prantha Karyavah of Dakshina Keralam, stated, “The unnatural death of Anandu Aji, one of our Swayamsevaks from Elikkulam, is very much sad and unfortunate. His family has been associated with the Sangh for several years. Anandu’s late father was a Karyakartha of the Sangh. At this mournful moment, we stand firmly with the family.”

The organization has also called for a detailed investigation into the alleged suicide note that surfaced shortly after Anandu’s death. The note includes what the RSS claims are unfounded allegations against the organization.

In a written petition to district police, the RSS noted, “We believe that an independent inquiry will not only clarify the real cause of his unnatural death but also uphold the RSS’s innocence in this unfortunate incident.” Police officials indicated that the investigation team would soon gather statements from Anandu’s family and friends.

The situation has prompted political responses, including calls from Congress leader and Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra for a high-level investigation. She stated on social media, “If true, the allegations are horrifying. The RSS leadership must take immediate action and come clean.”
