An 18-wheel trailer truck reportedly struck three individuals, leading to their instantaneous deaths on the outskirts of Amritsar on Saturday. Among the deceased were a woman and her son, identified as Raman, 23, and his mother, Geeta, along with a friend named Sunny, 27.

According to police reports, the trailer truck, which was transporting iron girders, was en route from Mahla to Ajnala. The victims were riding on a motorcycle behind the trailer when it unexpectedly reversed, resulting in the tragic incident that left all three individuals crushed beneath the vehicle.

Local authorities have detained the truck’s driver and are conducting an investigation. The bodies have been sent for postmortem examination. Mayor of Amritsar, Moti Bhatia, who happened to be passing by at the time of the accident, attempted to assist the victims but found that they had already succumbed to their injuries.
