  • Introduces six educational modules on the FutureSkills Prime platform
Snowflake, the AI Data Cloud enterprise, has announced its partnership with FutureSkills Prime, a digital skilling initiative launched by Nasscom and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), aimed at transforming India into a Digital Talent Nation. Through this collaboration, Snowflake and Nasscom aim to enroll over 100,000 professionals and students in Snowflake’s complimentary, on-demand, entry-level courses focused on data and AI skills over the next two years. This initiative is supported by Snowflake’s global program, One Million Minds + One Platform, which focuses on the worldwide upskilling in AI. Futureproofing India’s Workforce

As per Nasscom’s report, India is positioned first in AI skills penetration and ranks first and fifth globally in terms of AI talent concentration and AI scientific publications, respectively. Despite this achievement, there remains a 51% gap between the demand and supply of skilled professionals, with projected demand exceeding 1 million by 2026. As businesses from various sectors increasingly depend on data to fuel AI, innovation, and growth, the need for adept professionals in areas like Data Engineering, Data Science, and AI/ML is on the rise. Roles such as Data Analysts, Data Architects, and Data Administrators, crucial for converting data into actionable insights, will see increased demand as companies strive to offer greater value to their customers. This partnership between Snowflake and Nasscom is a strategic move to fill this critical skills gap by granting access to high-quality training and resources, equipping data and AI professionals with the vital tools needed to thrive in an ever-changing data landscape.

By becoming part of the FutureSkills Prime platform, Snowflake will have access to over 2,100 institutions within Nasscom’s Academy network. Snowflake’s training offerings will be incorporated into university curricula, either as compulsory or elective programs, in alignment with India’s National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. These courses will be available for undergraduate and postgraduate students (from their second year of degree or diploma programs, aged 16 and above) and working professionals seeking career enhancement. Delivered through the FutureSkills Prime platform, these comprehensive courses offer a clear pathway toward developing mastery in technology fields that are in high demand.

The training from Snowflake will adhere to the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF) and follow the guidelines of the National Credit Framework (NCrF). This alignment will aid learners in integrating practical skills into their studies, improving their employability while meeting the demands of the industry. Upon completion of approved courses, students will receive university credits that align with their current educational ecosystem.

Cassie Wallgren, VP of Global Educational Services at Snowflake remarked, “I am excited about the transformative influence our partnership with Nasscom will have. Together, we are addressing today’s skills gap and establishing a workforce prepared for the future, equipped to excel in a data-centric world. Through accessible learning pathways, recognized certifications, and hands-on experience, this collaboration empowers individuals to unlock new career potentials. It will shape the next wave of innovators, driving advancements in AI, technology, and beyond.”

Dr. Abhilasha Gaur, CEO of IT & ITeS SSC Nasscom , highlighted the significance of this initiative by stating, “As India continues to excel in digital transformation and data-driven innovation, we are excited to join forces with Snowflake. Their courses will equip students and professionals with the insight and expertise necessary to harness the power of AI and Data Cloud, propelling business growth and technological breakthroughs across industries. These training programs are designed to refine professionals in cloud data management, AI-driven analytics, and modern data architecture, nurturing a more informed and data-savvy workforce in India.” “A robust AI strategy requires a strong data strategy. Snowflake’s dedication to bridging the skills gap within the data and AI sectors aligns perfectly with Nasscom’s goal to uplift India’s IT and technology workforce. Snowflake’s specialized courses in data and AI are meticulously crafted to boost learners’ career prospects and readiness for industry demands. The collaboration aspires to create a future where organizations adeptly utilize their data to achieve competitive advantages, foster innovation, and attain long-term success,” stated Vijayant Rai, MD for India, Snowflake.

Six Learning Modules – customized for all types of learners

FutureSkills Prime currently engages over 2 million learners at various points in their career paths. Through six complimentary learning modules, Snowflake presents a structured, step-by-step program intended to assist all data professional roles—from novices to experts—including data engineers, analysts, architects, data scientists, machine learning (ML) engineers, administrators, and developers. Learners who complete the courses successfully will earn certifications from both Nasscom and Snowflake, augmenting their credentials and enhancing their professional value in the job market.

The Snowflake programs are structured to provide thorough learning paths for professionals at varying career stages. The entry-level courses, designed for accessibility, will provide foundational training and practical experience which includes:

· On-Demand, Immersive Learning: Participants will have the flexibility to access self-paced learning modules that blend theoretical knowledge with practical, real-world applications. This format allows individuals to tailor their education to fit their schedules.

· Hands-on Labs: Participants will have the opportunity to engage with hands-on labs, experimenting with Snowflake’s platform, conducting real-world simulations, and resolving practical data issues. This method will encourage deeper learning and instill confidence in applying their skills within the workplace.

· Entry-Level Training: These foundational courses will usher learners into core concepts in data management, cloud technologies, and SQL. They will also touch on fundamental principles of AI/ML and data science, ensuring that newcomers to the field can systematically develop their technical skills from the ground up.

· Persona-Specific Role-Based Pathways: For learners aspiring to specialize in specific roles (e.g., data analysts, data engineers, data architects, data administrators, data scientists, business analysts, etc.), our training programs will provide targeted learning pathways that delve into the specialized skills vital for these positions. These tracks will shift based on job analysis frameworks, centering on key skills, tools, and technologies pertinent to each profession.

Snowflake’s commitment to upskilling professionals and offering access to industry-recognized qualifications, such as SnowPro Certifications, addresses the increasing need for skilled data professionals while simultaneously enabling organizations to maximize business value by equipping their teams with the expertise required to leverage data effectively.
