BJP’s Rekha Gupta wins the Shalimar Bagh seat by a margin of 29,595 votes over AAP’s Bandana Kumari.

So far in the Delhi Assembly Elections, the highest victory margin is emerging in the Muslim dominated Mustafabad, where BJP’s Mohan Singh Bisht is leading with more than 42,000 votes from AAP’s Adeel Ahmad Khan.

BJP’s Ravi Negi leading by 15,616 votes from AAP’s Avadh Ojha. Congress’ Anil Kumar trails BJP by 35,618 votes.

Former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia represented Patparganj in 2015 and 2020.

BJP’s Mohan Singh Bisht leading with 38,583 votes from AAP’s Adeel Ahmad Khan. Congress’ Mohd Tahir Hussain trails BJP by 58,100 votes.

Congress has not been able to open its account. It is second only in Badli where Congress’s Devender Yadav is trailing behind BJP’s Aadhir Deepak Chaudharyy. And in Kasturba Nagar where Abhishek Dutt of the Congress is second while Neeraj Basoya of the BJP is first. But it is harming AAP in many constituencies including in prominent New Delhi and even in AAP strongholds like Sangam Vihar

BJP’s Kapil Mishra, who has joined the Saffron party from the AAP a few years ago, is likely to win the seat. He is leading AAP’s Manoj Kumar Tyagi by a huge margin of 26,980 votes. Congress’ Dr P K Mishra trails BJP by 51,760 votes. 

BJP’s Arvinder Singh Lovely, who joined the Saffron party from the Congress few years ago, is leading by 5264 votes from AAP’s Naveen Chaudhary. Congress’ Kamal Arora trails BJP by 27859 votes.

BJP Leading in 44 seats; AAP leading in 26 seats

Early celebration outside Delhi BJP headquarters as the counting trends show the saffron party staging a come back to power in the national capital after more than 26 years.

BJP is leading in 41 seats; AAP is leading in 29 seats.

BJP’s Mohan Singh Bisht is leading with 31,648 votes from AAP’s Adeel Ahmad Khan.

“People of Delhi have selected the path of development, and the result will be in BJP’s favour,” says Delhi BJP President Virendraa Sachdeva as the counting of votes continues for Delhi Assembly polls.

“Every attempt was made to remove AAP from government. ED, CBI, Income Tax, Election Commission, police – all powers were used against the Aam Aadmi Party. But the people’s blessings are with the AAP. I believe that the public will make Arvind Kejriwal the Chief Minister for the fourth time and he will take oath soon,” said outgoing Delhi Health Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj, who is also the ruling party candidate from Geater Kailash seat.

AAP’s Saurabh Bhardwaj and Congress’ Garvit Singhvi are trailing BJP’s Shikha Roy by 4049 votes. Bhardwaj was a Minister in the 2020 AAP government. He has won from Greater Kailash in 2020 elections.

In the upmarket area of South Delhi, AAP is trailing for the first time since it occupied power a decade ago. Of 15 Assembly segments, the BJP is leading in 11 and the AAP on 4. In the 2020 Assembly polls, AAP swept South Delhi winning 14 seats.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was leading in 42 seats, while the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was leading in 28 seats. Top AAP leaders such as Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia and current Delhi Chief Minister Atishi were trailing. Even veteran leaders like Somnath Bharti, who has won from Malviya Nagar twice, is trailing. Former Delhi Transport Minster, who joined BJP just before the elections, Kailash Gahlot is leading from Bijwasan. AAP’s Gopal Rai is also leading from Babarpur.

BJP is leading in Milkipur by-election of UP. BJP’s Chandrabhanu Paswan has got 6,082 votes against Samajwadi Party’s Ajit Prasad who has managed 3,991 votes so far.

Congress likely to open its account, its Delhi unit president Devender Yadav is leading against AAP’s Ajesh Yadav and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Deepak Chaudhary in the Badli seat of northwest Delhi constituency.

BJP’s Manish Chaudhary leading by 2260 votes from AAP’s Amanatullah Khan and Congress’ Ariba Khan.

Amanatullah Khan has won from Okhla in 2015 and 2020. Okhla is a Muslim dominated seat.

BJP’s Satish Upadhyay leading by 1400 votes from AAP’s Somnath Bharti and Congress’ Jitender Kumar Kochhar.

Somnath Bharti has won from Malviya Nagar in 2015 and 2020.

Gahlot was Transport Minister in AAP, but switched over to the BJP before the elections. He won from Bijwasan in 2015 and 2020.

Satyendar Jain is former Delhi Minister and among the first to be arrested by the ED in Delhi excise scam. He has won twice from Shakur Basti in 2015 and 2020.

Mustafabad (Imp Muslim dominated seat which AAP had won in 2020. BJP won it in 2015) – BJP’s Mohan Singh Bisht leading with 11315 votes from AAP’s Adeel Ahmad Khan.

In Matia Mahal, central Delhi, the contest is between AAP and Congress. AAP’s Aaley Mohammed Iqbal is way ahead in the lead with 4764 votes while the Congress’s Asim Ahmed Khan has the second slot at 833 votes. The BJP’s Deepti Indora is at the third slot with 346 votes.

Kejriwal gains, now leading with 254 votes over BJP’s Parvesh Sahib Singh. Kejriwal at 4679 votes while Parvesh Sahib Singh is at 4425 votes. Sandeep Dikshit has 742 votes.

In New Delhi, BJP’s Parvesh Sahib Singh at 2272 votes is ahead of Arvind Kejriwal, who is at 2198 votes, by 74 votes while the Congress’s Sandeep Dikshit has 404 votes.

As the counting of votes for the Delhi Assembly elections began at 8 am on Saturday, Abhishek Dutt, Congress candidate from Kasturba Nagar, exuded confidence in his victory.

“The truth and our hard work will win. I am confident that people will give me a chance to serve them again,” Dutt told ANI.

In the Kasturba Nagar constituency, Dutt is pitted against Ramesh Pahelwan of the AAP and Neeraj Basoya of the BJP.

The Delhi Assembly elections held on February 5 saw a voter turnout of 60.42 per cent.The counting of votes started under tight security arrangements. – ANI

As counting of votes is underway for the Delhi Assembly polls, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate from the Moti Nagar constituency Harish Khurana on Saturday exuded confidence in his party winning more than 50 seats out of 70 members in the legislature in the national capital.

Launching an attack on AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal, he said that the former Delhi CM, instead of resolving Delhi’s problems, was “dilly-dallying” with the politics of allegations and accusations.

“BJP candidate from Moti Nagar constituency Harish Khurana said, “The way we are getting the response from the people, not just in Moti Nagar but in entire Delhi, BJP is going to win with more than 50 seats. The people were facing issues but instead of answering their questions, Arvind Kejriwal and his gang were dilly-dallying with the politics of allegations and accusations. Their attempts have failed.” – ANI

As counting began for the Delhi assembly polls, Aam Aadmi Party candidate from Greater Kailash seat, Saurabh Bhardwaj on Saturday exuded confidence in the party’s victory, stating that the exit polls will be proven wrong and AAP will form government this time also.

Speaking to reporters, Saurabh Bhardwaj said, “Arvind Kejriwal will become the CM for the fourth time… In most exit polls, AAP has less vote share, because the poor people don’t say anything about their vote. They go to polling stations and vote as per their will. The exit polls will be proven wrong as AAP is going to form the govt this time as well…”

Earlier today, Saurabh Bharadwaj offered prayers at the Kalkaji temple ahead of Delhi.

The BJP was leading in 30 seats while AAP was ahead in 22 and the Congress one, as counting of votes continued for the assembly election in Delhi.

According to the latest trends being run by television channels, AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal, who is pitted against the BJP’s Parvesh Verma in the New Delhi seat, was trailing.

In the Kalkaji seat, Chief Minister Atishi was trailing the BJP’s Ramesh Bidhuri.

Former deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia was also trailing in Jangpura.

The BJP’s Karawal Nagar candidate Kapil Mishra was leading while AAP’s Saurabh Bharadwaj was ahead in the Greater Kailash seat. – PTI

Manish Sisodia, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate from the Jangpura constituency, expressed confidence in the party’s success ahead of the results, and asserted that the party has to do a lot more work for Delhi.

Speaking about the upcoming election results, he acknowledged the anxiety on the result day.

While speaking with ANI, Sisodia said, “We are confident that the (AAP) government will be formed. We have to do a lot more work for Delhi and the education of the childrens.”

While speaking with the reporters, he added, “Everyone has anxiety on result day. We are human too, but we have this faith that we are going to form the government as we have worked under the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal.” – ANI

Delhi Chief Minister and AAP leader Atishi on Saturday exuded confidence in her party’s victory in the Delhi Assembly elections and affirmed that the people of Delhi, including from her constituency Kalkaji, would support the AAP and re-elect Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal with a huge mandate.

Projecting a sweeping victory for the AAP, she said that party’s national convenor Arvind Kejriwal will become the Chief Minister of Delhi for the fourth time with a huge majority.

Speaking to the media outside her residence today, Atishi said, “This has not been an ordinary election, it has been a fight between the good and evil, a fight between work and (gundagardi) hooliganism. I have high hopes that the people of Kalkaji constituency and the entire state of Delhi will stand up with the party that has worked, will stand up with the Aam Aadmi Party and Arvind Kejriwal.”

“Arvind Kejriwal will become the Chief Minister of Delhi for the fourth time with a huge majority,” she added. – ANI

Ahead of the counting of votes for the Delhi Assembly elections, Delhi Police have enhanced security measures at every counting centre from proper personnel deployment to using drones.

Speaking to media, Joint Commissioner of Police, Southern Range, Sanjay Kumar Jain said that a four-tier security cordon has been inducted at the counting centre.

“At every counting centre, there are two companies of CAPFs. DSP, ADSP and inspectors are also deployed here. A four-tier security cordon has been maintained here. For an aerial view, we are using drones. During the victory procession by the candidates, police deployment will be done,” he said. – ANI

As the fate of key Delhi leaders is to set to be decided with counting for Delhi the Delhi Assembly polls slated to begin in a while, key candidates of Aam Aadmi Party, Bharatiya Janata Party and Congress turned to their religious sides by visiting temples and offering prayers.

Delhi Minister and Aam Aadmi Party candidate from Greater Kailash seat, Saurabh Bharadwaj offered prayers at the Kalkaji temple ahead of Delhi election results and said, “Whatever happens, now it is in the hands of the mother goddess.”

Bhardwaj exuded confidence stating that AAP would get a comfortable majority to form its government. – ANI

Counting of votes for Delhi’s 70 assembly constituencies began amid tight security at 19 locations across the national capital on Saturday.

Delhi’s Chief Electoral Officer Alice Vaz said 5,000 personnel, including counting supervisors and assistants, micro-observers, and support staff trained for the process, had been deployed for the exercise.

According to the Conduct of Election Rules, postal ballots will be counted first and the process of counting of votes recorded in electronic voting machines (EVMs) begin 30 minutes later.

After that, counting of votes cast through postal ballots and EVMs will continue simultaneously. – PTI
