Delhi Election 2025: On Saturday, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)-led Delhi government, expressing his embarrassment to represent the national capital abroad. The EAM also mentioned that he conceals “one fact from the world.”

“Residents of the national capital (Delhi) are deprived of housing, access to cylinders, and piped water under the Jal Jeevan Mission. They also do not benefit from Ayushman Bharat,” EAM Jaishankar remarked, delivering a pointed critique.

Jaishankar made these comments during an engagement with the South Indian community.

In his critique of the AAP government, he stated that under Arvind Kejriwal’s decade-long administration, Delhi has not progressed.

“It is regrettable that in the past ten years, Delhi has not advanced. The residents of Delhi are not receiving their entitlements to water, electricity, gas, cylinders, and health care… If the local government fails to fulfill your rights, then consider voting for a change on February 5,” he urged.

Earlier this week, EAM and BJP leader S. Jaishankar called on young voters to make the “right decision,” pointing out the poor condition of roads and water supply in the national capital.

The BJP is making extensive efforts to replace the current government.

During a session titled “Youth for Viksit Bharat” at Hansraj College, Delhi University, Jaishankar emphasized the significance of Delhi in achieving the vision of a developed India.

“Without the youth, there can be no ‘Viksit Bharat’. Being the national capital, Delhi bears a unique responsibility. When visitors from other countries come to Delhi, their perception of India is influenced by what they observe here,” Jaishankar stated.

The elections are approaching, with vote counting set for February 8.

Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh expressed confidence that his party would secure over 60 seats in the 70-seat assembly in the forthcoming Delhi elections.

Addressing the media, Sanjay Singh asserted that the Arvind Kejriwal-led government would return to power in Delhi with a clear majority.

” and the Arvind Kejriwal-led government will be established in Delhi with a decisive majority,” Sanjay Singh announced.

As the Delhi elections draw closer, the competition has intensified among three primary contenders—the ruling AAP, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and Congress.
