After the massive success of the 2000 film Gladiator, fans have been eagerly awaiting a sequel to the epic historical drama. And now, after years of speculation and rumors, it seems that Gladiator II in the works. But the question on everyone’s mind is: can this highly-anticipated sequel live up to the success of its predecessor? Released almost two decades ago, Gladiator took the world by storm, grossing over $460 million at the box office and winning five Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Actor for Russell Crowe’s powerful performance as Maxim.
