The much-awaited sequel to the cult classic comedy film ‘Andaz Apna Apna’, starring Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Karisma Kapoor, and Raveena Tandon, may finally be in the works. Reports suggest that Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan is collaborating with director Rajkumar Santoshi on a sequel, although with a different name that will not directly reference the original 1994 film.

Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Santoshi Collaboration:

A close source revealed to Times Now Hindi that Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Santoshi are currently discussing various projects, including ‘Andaz Apna Apna 2’. While they also have ‘Char Din Ki Zindagi’ on their radar, their immediate focus seems to be on the sequel to ‘Andaz Apna Apna’.

New Name for the Sequel:

The sequel will be given a new title to avoid copyright issues, as the rights of the original film belong to the daughter of producer Vinay Sinha. Santoshi mentioned in an interview that the sequel’s name will be distinct from its predecessor.

Rajkumar Santoshi shared, “When Andaz Apna Apna was released, its marketing and distribution were poorly handled, leading to a lackluster opening. However, over the years, it gained a cult following. People remember every dialogue, similar to iconic films like Mughal-e-Azam and Sholay.”

Sequel by Public Demand:

Santoshi expressed his desire to make the sequel based on public demand rather than simply for the sake of it. He emphasized, “The demand for the sequel of Andaz Apna Apna is very strong. If I don’t make this film, someone else will, which I cannot allow. I already have ideas for two sequels.”

It remains to be seen if Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, and the original lead actresses will reprise their roles in the sequel. Their involvement could potentially set new box office records.
