Pakistani actor Fawad Khan is set to make his Bollywood comeback after an eight-year hiatus. His upcoming film, ‘Abir Gulaal’, is a romantic comedy in which he will be starring alongside Bollywood actress Vaani Kapoor. The shooting for the film commenced in London on September 29 and is being directed by Aarti S Bagri. The film is being produced by Vivek Aggarwal, Avantika Hari, and Rakesh Sippy.

Recently, the makers unveiled a romantic poster featuring Fawad Khan and Vaani Kapoor, generating excitement among fans. The film is scheduled to be shot in the UK during the months of October and November 2024, with plans to make it a grand international production. The movie will also feature a talented ensemble cast from both India and the UK. Additionally, a renowned Bollywood musician has composed six original tracks for the film, which will be sung by popular Bollywood singers.

In the midst of his comeback, Fawad Khan found himself embroiled in controversy over the release of his film ‘The Legend of Maula Jatt’ in India. The film, slated for release on October 2, faced protests in several cities, leading to its postponement. Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) founding chairperson, Raj Thackeray, vehemently opposed the release of the film, vowing to prevent any Pakistani artist’s work from being exhibited in Maharashtra.

Fawad Khan has previously worked in three Indian films, with his last appearance in Bollywood being in the 2016 movie ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ alongside Ranbir Kapoor. Prior to that, he featured in ‘Kapoor and Sons’ (2016) and ‘Khoobsurat’ (2014). After an extended hiatus, Fawad is gearing up to charm audiences once again with his stellar performance in ‘Abir Gulaal’.
