Vijay Varma’s upcoming series, “IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack,” is creating excitement as it gets ready to premiere on the streaming platform. The series is based on the real-life 1999 hijacking of Indian Airlines Flight 814 and is set to provide a gripping reenactment of the harrowing events that had the nation on edge. Many are curious about the release time of IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack.

The series is scheduled to stream on Netflix on August 29, 2024. Following Netflix’s usual release pattern, viewers can anticipate the series to become available between 12:30 p.m. and 1 p.m. IST. This timing aligns with other recent high-profile releases on Netflix, allowing fans to indulge in the drama during the early afternoon.

The hijacking of Flight 814 occurred on December 24, 1999, when terrorists took control of a plane traveling from Kathmandu to Delhi. Lasting for seven days and spanning multiple countries, the incident was ultimately resolved in Kandahar, Afghanistan. While the story has been explored in various books and films, this marks its first adaptation into a series.

Renowned filmmaker Anubhav Sinha, known for powerful films like “Thappad” and “Article 15,” makes his digital debut with this six-episode series. Vijay Varma takes on the role of Captain Sharan Dev, with Patralekha portraying flight attendant Indrani. The cast also includes Dia Mirza as newspaper editor Shalini Chandra, alongside veteran actors like Naseeruddin Shah, Pankaj Kapur, Manoj Pahwa, Kumud Mishra, and Arvind Swami. Furthermore, “Squid Game” star Anupam Tripathi adds to the ensemble.

Prepare for a thrilling Thursday as IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack begins its streaming journey on Netflix.
