In Maharashtra, the swearing-in ceremony of seven MLCs appointed by the Governor will take place at Vidhan Bhavan on Tuesday at noon. The Deputy Chairperson of Maharashtra Legislative Council, Dr. Neelam Gorhe, will administer the oath to the new appointees.
According to reports from ANI, there is a pending case in the High Court regarding the vacant posts of 12 MLCs appointed by the Governor. The High Court has completed the hearing on the petition filed by Shiv Sena UBT Kolhapur chief Sunil Modi and has reserved the order.
Despite the ongoing legal proceedings, the government has gone ahead and recommended the names of seven individuals for these appointments. The swearing-in ceremony for these new MLCs is scheduled to take place today.
