Chattogram: The West Indies and Bangladesh faced off in the third T20I of their series at the Bir Sreshtho Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium on October 31. Bangladesh batted first but struggled significantly, posting a total of 151 runs.

The hosts had a rocky start, with Parvez Hossain Emon dismissed for nine runs and Litton Das contributing just six runs. However, Tanzid Hasan played a noteworthy innings, scoring 89 runs off 62 balls to stabilize the innings.

Romario Shepherd’s exceptional performance stood out in the first innings as he achieved a hat-trick, making him only the second West Indian bowler to record a hat-trick in men’s T20 Internationals. Shepherd took the wickets of Nurul Hasan, Tanzid Hasan, and Shoriful Islam over two overs, concluding his spell with impressive figures of 3 wickets for 36 runs.

In pursuit of the target, the West Indies began their innings with Alick Athanaze, who fell for just one run. Amir Jangoo managed to score 34 runs off 23 balls, while Brandon King contributed eight runs. Just as the West Indies seemed in a precarious position, Roston Chase and Akeem Auguste’s solid performances turned the tide. Both scored 50 runs each, guiding their team to a five-wicket victory.

For Bangladesh, Rishad Hossain was the standout bowler, taking three wickets, while Mahedi Hasan and Nasum Ahmed claimed one wicket each.
